Adecco is currently seeking a IS & Cloud Developer to join our client’s team for a 12-month contract role in Ajax, ON. In this role, you’ll design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software for microcontroller-based systems. Working closely with a collaborative engineering team, you’ll support new product development, troubleshoot existing systems, and contribute to code quality and documentation. This is a great opportunity for an engineer with 3–5 years of experience to gain hands-on exposure to cutting-edge embedded technologies.

  • Pay rate: $38/hour.
  • Location: Ajax, ON
  • Shifts: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm
  • Job type: 12-month contract | Full-time

Responsibilities:
  • Designing, developing, debugging, and unit testing source code for embedded controllers using best practice software methodologies.
  • Designing and troubleshooting microcontroller systems and their supporting circuitry.
  • Maintaining and updating released code; assisting production teams in resolving software-related issues.
  • Writing clean, reusable, and well-documented code for use across multiple embedded platforms.
  • Developing documentation, flowcharts, and diagrams to support problem analysis and resolution.
  • Collaborating with other engineers to research new or alternative algorithms.
  • Participating in design reviews, requirements gathering, and code reviews.
  • Supporting customer service and repair teams by providing training and troubleshooting expertise.
  • Identifying areas for improvement in software processes and development cycle times.
Requirements:
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
  • B.S. in Computer Science or a comparable technical degree
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in embedded or systems software engineering
  • Strong debugging skills and hands-on experience with microcontroller systems
  • Comfortable working with structured processes and receiving guidance from senior engineers
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
