Adecco is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic Maintenance Engineering team at a leading mining operation in Fort McMurray. Responsibilities
Act as the primary liaison between Production Units and the Rotating Engineering team, ensuring clear communication and alignment
Participate in daily and weekly Production Unit meetings to support equipment availability and operational decision-making
Monitor equipment health, troubleshoot failures, perform root cause analysis, and develop long-term reliability solutions
Issue scope of work and inspection recommendations for outages and routine maintenance
Analyze equipment wear, recommend one-time cost-effective repairs, and report reliability metrics for various equipment classes
Apply continuous improvement strategies to increase equipment uptime and reduce operating costs
Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders on progress, issues, and proposed solutions
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation preferred or eligibility to register
Minimum 4 years of experience in an operating facility, troubleshooting equipment and improving reliability
Strong expertise in fixed plant equipment (e.g., crushers, conveyors, hoppers, screens, slurry pumps)
Experience with Root Cause Failure Analysis and reliability metrics
Familiarity with hydraulic systems, SAP/S4, and Fieldglass is an asset
Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative mindset
Self-motivated, client-oriented, and capable of working independently and within a team
Must be local to Fort McMurray or willing to relocate
