Our client is a growing and well recognized national developer of critical technology infrastructure, located in Oakville, ON. This hybrid position (onsite Monday to Thursday, Friday from home) reports to the Senior Planning Manager, and joins a dynamic team of collaborative professionals who work successfully in the public space between developers, municipalities and governmental authorities. The work will involve constructive and active engagement with community and municipal stakeholders and under direction, this position will follow the municipal process of each application for various development projects in central and easter Canada. REQUIREMENTS and CANDIDATE PROFILE – Planning Coordinator
Undergraduate Degree, in a field relevant to planning and municipal / governmental relations.
Strong listening skills that display the capability of developing nuanced work relationships.
High level of organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to work.
Detail oriented, with a strong work ethic.
2 years of full-time work experience.
Work from Oakville office and travel regionally for work, from time to time, sometimes into evenings.
Membership in a provincial Planning Institute and/or the Canadian Institute of Planners - is ideal.
Prior applied experience with community planning and zoning - is ideal.
Valid driver’s license.
RESPONSIBILITIES – Planning Coordinator
Proactive outreach to municipalities with guidance from the Senior Planning Manager.
Reviewing application requirements and ensuring for notifications and submissions, responding quickly to enquiries, and incorporating feedback received along the way.
Ensure the completeness, accuracy, quality and timeliness of all communications with clients and communities.
Liaise and collaborate with other team members to ensure all standards, policies and agreements are interpreted, understood and adhered to by all stakeholders.
Aid in planning and/or organizing open houses and/or public consultations and materials, in collaboration with the team.
Prepare written responses to members of the public and / or municipal / regional officials.
Ability perform in additional duties may be required from time to time. based on need.
