Adecco, in partnership with our client, who specializes in municipal infrastructure, land development, and transportation is currently hiring a full-time Planning Manager to join their Edmonton team. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a motivated professional with a passion for land use planning and land development. In this role, you will combine your technical expertise with business development, project management, and team mentorship to help grow our planning practice across Alberta.

Responsibilities:
Oversee the pursuit, planning, and execution of projects for both private and public sector clients.
Act as the senior technical expert on urban planning and land development initiatives.
Direct multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met.
Develop and nurture strong, lasting relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Represent the company professionally at client meetings, industry events, and within the community.
Create and implement strategic plans to identify and secure new business opportunities.
Expand the company’s planning presence in Edmonton, Calgary, and other key markets across Alberta.
Strengthen relationships with key accounts to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Lead, mentor, and develop planning staff to foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
Support talent acquisition efforts to attract skilled professionals and retain top talent.
Manage project budgets and schedules, tracking financial performance to ensure profitability.
Support the leadership team with strategic planning and business growth initiatives.
Provide senior planning services on subdivision design and land development projects.
Oversee the preparation and review of planning deliverables, ensuring they meet regulatory and client requirements.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in urban planning or a closely related discipline.
Registered Professional Planner (RPP) designation and full membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP).
Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in urban planning and land development.
In-depth knowledge of subdivision design processes and Alberta’s municipal approval frameworks, including experience with the City of Edmonton, City of Calgary, and surrounding municipalities.
Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong track record in client relationship management and securing new business opportunities.
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
