Adecco is currently hiring for a R&D Intermediate Technician for a full-time opportunity in Ottawa, ON.
In this role, you will support R&D semi-automated assembly lines by troubleshooting and maintaining equipment, designing and testing new components, and improving manufacturing processes.
To succeed in this role, you should have strong troubleshooting skills, experience with electrical or pneumatic systems, and a background in regulated manufacturing environments.
Position Overview
Main Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on semi-automated equipment
Design, draw, and support the fabrication of new jigs, fixtures, and production tools
Work independently to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturing processes
Maintain detailed documentation of repairs, procedures, and maintenance records
Collaborate with the R&D and Engineering Services teams across multiple projects
Recommend and help implement process improvements focused on efficiency and safety
Comply with all Quality and EH&S (Environment, Health & Safety) standards and policies
Requirements
Must be eligible to reside and work within Canada
College Diploma (2-year program) or equivalent experience
1–3 years of relevant experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience with automation equipment, electrical/pneumatic troubleshooting
Strong documentation, organizational, and multitasking skills
Clear communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in teams
High initiative and a willingness to learn in a dynamic R&D setting
Assets
Familiarity with manual assembly, hand tools, wiring, and soldering
Basic PLC programming and understanding of electrical design
Knowledge of 3D printing technologies and design for additive manufacturing (DfAM)
Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS for 3D modeling and technical drawing
Familiarity with GMP and assembly line standards
