Adecco, in partnership with our client, a mid-sized engineering and planning consulting firm who specialize in municipal infrastructure, land development, and transportation projects, is currently hiring a full-time Senior Civil Engineer to join the Edmonton team. Responsibilities:
Lead the delivery of water resources and municipal engineering projects, including stormwater management systems, sanitary sewer networks, and water distribution designs.
Prepare and review detailed engineering designs, technical reports, specifications, and related documentation to ensure quality and compliance.
Work closely with planners and clients to coordinate subdivision layouts and land use applications.
Analyze and adjust designs in response to municipal feedback and regulatory guidelines.
Plan and manage project scopes, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for a wide range of municipal and land development projects.
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and municipal staff, ensuring strong relationships and clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop proposals, manage scope changes, and support project billing and contract administration.
Guide and mentor junior engineers and technologists, sharing knowledge to support their technical growth and career development.
Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture built on continuous learning and professional excellence.
Maintain and strengthen existing client relationships to encourage repeat business.
Assist with identifying and securing new project opportunities to expand our firm’s reach in Edmonton and beyond.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; a Master’s degree focused on Water Resources or a related discipline is an asset.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Alberta, with at least 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
Proven technical knowledge in municipal infrastructure design, stormwater management, subdivision grading, utilities, and surface works.
Hands-on experience with PCSWMM (required); familiarity with other modeling and design tools such as HEC-RAS, Mike Urban, Civil 3D/MicroStation, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office is an asset.
Strong grasp of Alberta Environment policies, wetland regulations, and sustainable, low-impact development approaches.
In-depth understanding of municipal approval processes in Edmonton and surrounding communities.
Excellent leadership and team coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Proven ability to build trust with clients, stakeholders, and project partners through clear communication and high-quality work.
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
