About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Embedded Software Developer to join our client’s dynamic team. In this role, you will design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications for advanced aerospace systems. You will also support or install software applications and operating systems, and play an integral part in the testing process, including test review, analysis, test witnessing, and software certification.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop embedded software for aerospace applications in accordance with industry certification standards, such as DO-178C
Support software application installation and maintenance for operating systems
Participate in comprehensive software testing and certification activities
Prepare and review technical documentation and reports
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including hardware, systems, and verification teams
May supervise or lead the work of others on specific projects
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
4-6 years’ experience in embedded software development—preferably in aerospace or a related field
Solid knowledge of and experience with DO-178C certification standards
Strong hands-on expertise in C and C++ programming for embedded systems
Experience developing software using CASE tools (e.g., IBM Rhapsody)
Proven ability to write low-level device drivers
Exposure to Agile development methodologies and DevSecOps principles
Desired Skills (Assets)
Experience with NXP and/or ARM Cortex-M7 / S32K family of processors
Familiarity with NXP Hardware Security Engine and Secure Boot
Experience working in highly regulated environments and contributing to safety-critical applications
