Adecco is actively seeking a skilled Warranty and Service Technician to join our client’s team. This role involves managing home pre-occupancy walkthroughs, warranty inspections, and coordinating service appointments to ensure homeowners receive excellent post-sale support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential construction and skilled trades, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to customer service excellence.
Responsibilities:
Schedule and oversee pre-occupancy walkthroughs to educate homeowners on home features, finishes, and maintenance.
Conduct inspections per company and Alberta New Home Warranty standards, identifying and documenting any deficiencies or homeowner concerns.
Manage possession days, guiding homeowners through the final handover and addressing last-minute issues.
Schedule, coordinate, and oversee warranty and service appointments, ensuring repairs meet quality standards and timelines.
Liaise between homeowners and trades, creating detailed work orders, purchase orders, and ensuring follow-up for all warranty and non-warranty repairs.
Maintain accurate and organized records of all service activities, warranty deficiencies, and repair progress.
Act as the primary contact for homeowners during the warranty process, providing clear, timely updates.
Ensure all documentation aligns with company policies, warranty provider requirements, and homeowner expectations.
Requirements:
Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
Diploma or Apprenticeship in a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in residential construction or skilled trades (carpentry, general maintenance).
Strong knowledge of home building processes, construction practices, and warranty standards.
Familiarity with Progressive Warranty and the Construction Performance Guide is a plus.
Proficient with power tools, repair techniques, and interpreting building plans/specifications.
Excellent problem-solving, time management, and customer service skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills — professional, empathetic, and service-oriented.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
Physically able to lift 50 lbs., kneel, crouch, and perform hands-on repair work.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.
Must supply own hand tools.
Certifications beneficial but not required: Certified New Home Technician (CNHT), Home Inspection Certification, Customer Service or Conflict Resolution Training.
